Shiseido.com about the foundation:

“A weightless foundation, with ActiveForceTM technology, that synchronises with skin and self-refreshes nonstop for a 24-hour just-applied look and flawless finish”

Skin Type: Sensitive Combination skin

Skin undertone: Neutral

Skintone: Light

Skin shade matches: YSL All Hours Foundation – BD20 – BD25

Results: It’s not the cleanest foundation that I have tried, yet it’s on the best and most suitable for my skin type. I wish to find a dupe with identical performance but clean ingredients. Recently, I tried Juice Beauty Juice Beauty PHYTO-PIGMENTS Flawless Serum Foundation 30ml, but the performance of the foundation is different and I cannot call it a dupe. I’m happy with the performance of Shiseido, which lasts for 10 hours. I need powder touch ups during lunch time. I do get oily on my T-zone, but it’s just the nature of my skin and I found that it happens on a daily basis, no matter which foundation I would try. The foundation is buildable with a lightweight feel, without caking while applying more layers. It has light to medium coverage and doesn’t settle into the fine lines. Personally I don’t like matte full cover foundations, because it looks heavy and cake on my skin after a few hours of application (Bare Mineral Matte powder screw you!).

Pros:

  • Buildable
  • Lightweight
  • Doesn’t settle into fine lines
  • Easy to apply with brush, sponge and fingers

Cons:

  • ingredients : Silicones – Dimethicone, Cyclopentasiloxane, BHT, Phenoxyethanol
  • Slightly tacky on my skin

Application tips:

Real Technique SpongeThe formula spreads evenly and enables buildable light to medium coverage. However some part of the foundation sinks into the sponge.

Real Techniques Expert Face BrushApplication with this brush is smooth and even. The coverage is fuller than with the sponge, because the foundation doesn’t sit as much.

E.L.F. Cosmetics e.l.f. Ultimate Blending Brush  – similar application to the Real Techniques brush, however some strikes may appear and you can even it with the sponge.

Kabuki Brush from Amazon – the most even, smooth and full coverage application. No strikes appear with this brush.

Swatches – Shade Birch 210 – I feel like the foundation might be a tone dark for me, still I believe it merges with my complexion very well. I’m considering to go for 1 shade lighter – 160
