Prabal Gurung ‘s Spring/Summer 2012 catwalk was inundated with the bold floral graphics maintained in the color combination of purple, black and green shades. The blossom motifs were typified on the “Sensual Flowers “series of Nobuyoshi Araki, created together with the London-based printmaker.

The sensational effect of flowers conveys both the feminine eroticism and intrinsic power of women depicted on the ladylike vixen’s silhouettes accompanied with a great variety of fabrics from lightweight sylphs to lacquering latex, black leather accents and harness.

Jil Sander’s catwalk for Spring/Summer 2012 season was implemented with the art inspirations based on Pablo Picasso’ legacy. To be more specific, the Jil Sander’s line was accentuated with the graphics from Picasso’s ceramics. Thanks to the courtesy of Pablo Picasso’s family the designer was able to interpret some of the artworks of this icon of modernism in the fashion language.

Apart from a strong aquatic message on the Alexander McQueen’s Spring/Summer 2012 catwalk there is also an equally strong merit of Gaudi’s architecture masterpieces in the intricate garment constructions under the helm of Sarah Burton. The creative duo of Nicole and Michael Colovos mixed their sense of biker chic with sporty elegance and extensive graphics in duo tone mode.

FASHION INSPIRATION: HELMUT LANG SPRING/SUMMER 2012 INSPIRED BY RICHARD SIERRA CIRCLED SCULPTURES.

Narciso Rodriguez went into refined minimalism with asymmetrical cuts and hints of subtlety in the graphic prints for Spring/Summer 2012 season. The designer fascinated with the artistic background of Korean artist Kim Joon, expressed the poetry of tattoo body art on the clothing. Highlighting the idea of the body map, the collection is fulfilled with the squirmed drafts and brushstrokes.
